Lethbridge and southern Alberta are well positioned to promote and develop the geospatial industry. With the very successful programming and research at the University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College, our community has a significant research, education and training foothold in the technology sector.
Companies in Lethbridge have state-of-the-art geospatial imaging capabilities from advanced satellite systems to low-cost deployment of unmanned aerial vehicles. Lethbridge companies and business leaders have a worldwide reputation and reach. 
Led by interest in anchoring these types of successful geospatial technology companies in Lethbridge, Economic Development Lethbridge (EDL) built this technology commercialization centre with lead investment from the City of Lethbridge ($1.16 million) and participation in Canada’s Action Plan through Western Economic Diversification ($4.39 million).

While working closely with our partners, EDL continues to operate this facility to provide a place for like-minded techno-preneurs and businesses to work together and grow.
The tecconnect incubator is a unique facility designed to attract, incubate and develop technology companies through commercialization of products and services. The centre has an IT focus with a specific emphasis in geospatial technologies Open for business since 2011, tecconnect is quickly becoming a vibrant place that inspires continued growth in the high-tech industry in southern Alberta.
